Happy Sunday!
Hope everyone is having a great week-end (for whatever is left of it). And while some of you may still be sipping your hot cup of coffee, or struggling to drown out the noise of the kids running around, or locking yourself in the bathroom with your I-pad to read the news, here are the pieces of news we obsessed over this week, some of which we are still reeling over, and others we are glad we stumbled upon:
- I loved this Forbes Woman’s article on Why Jill Abramson’s Firing Hits Home for All Women, while linking to this other great article from the Republic appropriately entitled “I Sort of Hope We Find Out That Jill Abramson Was Robbing the Cash Register“;
- Meanwhile, TheRoot.com shares with us a historical fact, as the New York Times appoints its first ever Black editor;
- I also loved this post by Essence on Black Women and the Tech Boom, a must-read for all women and men;
- On a lighter note, Refinery 29 has great suggestions on how to dress well on a bad weather day;
- Sales Alert! SheFinds.com has a listing of great sales that make it easier to shop for spring fashion;
- Finally, our very own The Corporate Sister chimes on what we learned this week about women at work (thanks Barbara Walters and Jill Abramson).
Happy Sunday!
The Corporate Sister.
